I enjoyed this very much. Very Howard-esque as David says below. It’s a great start to what I hope will be a long running idea. I’m up next. I hope mine is as entertaining as Ben’s tale.

I'm going for variety of styles and really enjoyed your Korvix tale that's on deck. More 'traditional' in my mind but what do I know? lol

Robert E. Howard would have been proud of this- it's very much in his style, and the North American location is very unique.

I'll be posting some pretty traditional barbarian beats bad guy stories but I'm very much on the lookout for these kind of unique takes on the genre. And Ben is one of the best at creating something new and intriguing.

This was an amazing story. Loved the Western Reserve setting and the Serpent Mound. I'm from Ohio. So cool to see that in an S&S tale. JRC

Ben is one of my favorite storytellers and always has creative takes on the genre. I have another of his 'Mad' Morwenna Jones pirate tales scheduled for Halloween - it's set in Salem and involves witches...and more cosmic horrors! We're in for a treat.

There are a smattering a tales in settings like this if you know where to look. Even so, Crawford has penned another great yarn.

Oh gosh I LOVED THIS STORY! The mix of real history and eerie fantasy worked perfectly and the characters were vivid and the fascinating 17th cent. colonial N. American backdrop was refreshingly different. So glad there will be more stories about that wonderful Morwenna, and I would also love more stories about Sarangaroro. I am particularly fond of Native American cultures.

"We have all been made fools of over a woman at one time or another." And I shall again with a grin and a sigh. What a gem of a tale. The nuance of mixed characters and cultures sets the realistic tone that things aren't always as black-and-white as becomes the fad of entertainment and discourse but there will always be a general consistency in the nature of Man ... and Woman.
